GM Station

The right side of the Game Master Station. You can see the counter that cups the GM chair, with storage for books, props beneath. You can also see the dual dice pits, the built in miniatures case, and the master dimmer for all of the lights. Just to the right of the mini case is a vertical storage area for paper and books. They are found all around the table, and each player has access to 2 of them.

I really like to use miniatures for gaming. Sure they can inhibit some creativity on everyone's part, but I feel like this is outweighed by the clarity that they bring to spatial relations on the table. Everybody gets a better sense where their character is standing, etc. However, i hate it when food and figures mix. Makes for greasy figures, and cluttered gaming area. Therefore, we made made the table with a raised game surface for miniatures. Now, food stays in the stations, not on the table top.
