Complete Overview

Agyris is an imaginary world created by friends who have a passionate love of the fantasy genre. Started in the late 1980's by me (Daniel Davis)as a roleplaying setting, it has benefited greatly from the talents of other great creatives; artist, programmers, linguists, and writers. We've used Agyris as a focal point for our creative energies, and the result is this website.

Since you stopped by, I'll be frank with you. I want to create fans of Agyris. I want you to enjoy learning about it, and I want you to have a quarter as much passion about it that I do. We've spent so much time working on this project, that we want as many people as possible to see it, know about it, and ultimately, enjoy it.

Our Mission Statement: To craft an new epic fantasy myth, set in a fantastic world, through any conceivable medium (websites, stories, comics, illustrations, roleplaying games, movies, etc.), with the endgoal of delighting audiences. Sure, I know, we're not there yet. (But we're trying very hard.)

Many believe that "Fantasy is dead." This indeed, may be so. However, this statement challenges us to work harder, and gives us the motivation to keep writing, drawing, coding, and creating.

It is our aim to push Fantasy further, to make it grander, to distill it into it's most vibrant forms, awakening that which made us interested in the genre in the first place. This cannot be done by simply recycling the old forms, but by removing the old cliches and extracting the most interesting bits and expanding upon them. There must be surprises to delight our audience.
