Galilae

Agent - You are a spy for the Republic. You have been sent to the "Uncivilized Lands" in order to learn about the actions of the Enemy. Your job is to appear to fit into society, and work your way up the ranks of the culture to learn as much as possible. However, you're beginning to realize that everything that you've been told by your superiors is not entirely true... You may be sent to Irva, Sirvat, Pelmox, Sanctum, Aethos, or any other malevolent place. You must keep your sanity at all costs.

Rail Bandit - You've made your living by stealing from the rich passengers of the Steam Serpent that connects the Republics cities. They deserve it. They've made their fortunes living off the backs of the unions. It's time that someone equaled the score. However, they've cracked down on Rail crimes, and have made them punishable by death. You've been forced to flee the Republic before the Rail Wardens catch up with you.

Crystallar Hunter - You make a living seeking out the rare crystallar crystals, which power all Holy Republic Technology. Prices are good for pure crystallar, but there is immense competition in the "hunting and gathering" field. It's becoming more and more difficult to find good sources of crystallar, so you've decided to look in the "Savage Lands" outside of Galilae for some stock. Now you journey throughout the lands looking for "crystal signs." (Just watch out for the monstrosities!)

Cad - You just don't fit into the Republic at all. You don't like to work much, you aren't punctual, and you have lax standards. You've been demoted in your factory jobs so much, that your are only rated high enough to be a street sweeper. You decided that it would be easier to make liquor in a still in the woods outside of your hometown, than to continue sweeping the streets. However, they've found you out, and have arranged to send you out of the country instead of life imprisonment. That's fine. It's about time to see what scares the Republic so much, out in the "Tainted Lands."

Explorer - You've been sent out into the "Chaos Lands" to create accurate charts and maps, so that the Emperor might know what the Republic is up against. Things were going fine, until your Steamwheeler sunk and your crew were eaten by hordes of angry savages. Now you're on foot, and far from home, trying to make the best maps possible.

Lawmaker - Laws are not just decrees, scratched into stone tablets. They are ideals that must be enforced to be real. You are a Lawmaker, a warrior of justice. You defend the ideals of the Republic by stomping out liars, thieves, and bandits. Occasionally your work takes you to the borders of the Republic and beyond. However, on an assignment looking for a fugitive who has fled the Republic, you find that you've been swept hundreds, if not thousands, of Sagues away from home, in a terrible storm. You are alone, and have no idea where you are.

Fey Hunter - Fey is corrupting the world. The Republic is the last realm that is free from that corrupting poison. However, evidence of Fey have been showing up in the heartland of the Republic, and it is your job to cleanse the land. You look for signs of fey craft, and seek to stomp it out. Perhaps you are sent out into the "Corrupted Lands" to seek out and destroy sources of Fey, being mindful of being corrupted yourself.

Engineer - You design, create, and test Galilaen Imperial technology. You are revered and respected for your work, and you have a great deal of pride in everything that you create. Perhaps you've been sent outside of Galilae to test the technology, and report on it's success outside of the Republic.

Jarrikine Templar Squire - You are the Fist of Jarrik. You crusade across the lands, and even beyond the Republic, stomping out evil. Even though your are not quite yet a full Templar, you have been on one or two Holy Wars, and you'd like nothing more than to burn the stain and sin that is Irva right off of the Discovered Lands. It is more than a duty, it is your life. Perhaps on one of your Crusades you were swept away into the depths of the corrupted Discovered Lands, and you were separated from your Pledge Knight in a battle with the Skorr. You find that there is more work to do out here, than inside the safe confines of the Republic, so you have no plans to return home for many years. When you do finally return, you will be welcomed home as a full Templar Knight.

Equipment & Supplies: A stained & blessed great sword etched with the word "ORDER", a holy tome of Jarrik: the Guide of Law, judging eyes, iron slat armor outfitted with holy tokens, an armor brush, armor wax, a whetstone, a flint wheel, a pair of good quality plated gauntlets (JUSTICE & REPENT), a heavy shield inscribed with the word "LAW", a silver lantern shrine with a holy flame dedicated to the lords of light (it must not be extinguished), 4 vials of Holy Oil, a bundle of prayer sticks (one is broken every holy day of prayer), a scroll of chants and psalms, a tarnished silver chalice, a poor map of the "Unholy Lands", and a silver locket with a tiny painting of your grandfather.

Jarrikine Monk - You are a priest of Jarrik, and have been touched with his grace and power. You have made many personal sacrifices along your path, and you're sure that there will be many more in your lifetime. However, each sacrifice is a journey which brings you closer to Jarrik and his eternal knowledge. You journey out into the "Unclean Lands" to bring "Order to the Chaos which Corrupts."

Rail Minstrel - Rail Minstrels are probably the most free spirited folk of Galilae. They don't feel tied to any one city, and are quite comfortable with a life on the road. They earn their living by telling stories and singing songs to the travelers on the Steam Serpents that move through the cities and towns of the Republic. A very few corrupt Minstrels will supplement their income with stealing from the passengers. Occasionally, a Rail Minstrel will tire of the same sights and sounds of Galilae, and decide to see more of the world and learn more of her stories. Sometimes, they join adventuring parties, utilizing their abilities to entertain and influence folk, read weather, pick pockets, and being a jack-of-all-trades.

Equipment & Supplies: An instrument - Choose one: a portable 3-octave harpsichord, a spring-driven lute (for rapid plectrum strumming), a portable wind-up organ (for air flow), or a spring-driven hurdy gurdy. Each come with a sturdy travel case, a few replacement parts, and 2 winding keys. Also, you have a tuning fork, a brass tip cup, a vial of spring oil, sheet music for 14 popular Galilaen songs, a winning smile, several rail tokens, a good canvass travel pack, a bottle of filtered drinking water, a travel journal, a dozen expired rail tickets, a coupon for a free instrument repair at Luvor's Instrument factory - Galilae, a suit of fancy travel clothes, a pair of buckled city shoes, a suit of plain travel clothes, a small knife, a canvass sling w/ 50 lead bullets, an old copy of the "Galilae Times" news-parchment, and a bed roll with fluffy pillow.

Resolver - You seek to return Holy Republic Technologies stolen from your homeland. You are a patriot, and you know that those that have betrayed Galilae have been corrupted by Fey and foul cults. You work in secret, and our are expected to report on the things that you have seen in your excursions into the "Uncivilized Lands." You must not let your own technologies slip into the hands of the infidels, lest soon you will be dealing with Resolvers of your own.
